The Italian Genealogical Group (IGG) is a nonprofit organization established in 1993 to support people researching Italian ancestry and promote Italian family history and genealogy. It welcomes everyone, from beginners to professional genealogists, and encourages members to discover their past and preserve family heritage for future generations. The organization provides access to more than 16 million free genealogical records and research resources, including searchable databases and additional members-only tools.

Members can also access the group’s newsletters and exclusive research databases. For those new to genealogy, IGG offers guidance on getting started, while its monthly meetings and events provide informative opportunities to learn and connect. The group also offers scholarships to high school seniors throughout the United States.

Its book project, As Long As You Speak My Name: Written Narratives about Italian Immigrants, shares written accounts of Italian immigrant experiences. Visitors can join the organization, explore its resources, attend events, purchase merchandise, or support its work through donations
