IT’S MY PARTY! is a musical group dedicated to recreating the sound, style, and spirit of 1960s girl groups. Founded in 1985 by drummer and producer John Giotto, the group grew from his enthusiasm for the music of acts such as The Chiffons. Based in the Rochester, New York area in its early years, it has evolved through multiple generations of performers while maintaining its vintage pop identity.
The group presents a lively retro experience featuring close vocal harmonies, period-inspired costumes, and choreography, accompanied by a 14-piece orchestra. Its repertoire includes classic girl-group sounds as well as original songs written especially for the group. IT’S MY PARTY! has released recordings ranging from its 1988 cassette album, which included seven original songs, to later CD singles and releases.
Over the years, members have performed at local clubs, festivals, radio and television appearances, and events across the country. The group celebrates the music and history of the 1960s girl-group era through live performances and recordings, bringing audiences a nostalgic, carefully arranged show with a distinctive vintage character
