I Want a Stringer is a professional racket restringing service based in Royton, Oldham, Lancashire, around 10 miles northeast of Manchester city centre. Run by Peter Tetlow, a retired tennis coach and professional stringer with more than 20 years of experience, the service is UKRSA/ERSA qualified and caters to tennis, badminton, squash and racketball players. Services include restringing with natural gut, multifilament and monofilament strings, as well as fitting new grips, adjusting grip sizing, and replacing bumper strips and grommets.
Rackets are normally ready within three to five days, depending on workload and product availability, and an express service may be available. Personal callers can request a free loan racket while theirs is being serviced. Collection and delivery are free for multiple rackets within 10 miles of the Royton address and for a single racket within five miles; a £2.50 charge applies outside those areas. Mail-order service is also available, and customers can pay by cash, card or bank transfer.
