About IWGMS
Indian Wells Gem and Mineral Society is a community organization based in Ridgecrest, California, in the Upper Mojave Desert near Death Valley and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Its interests center on geology, gems and minerals, and the lapidary arts, including cutting and polishing rocks. The society invites people to explore the natural materials of the region, develop creative skills, and share an interest in earth science and stonework.
Its website provides information about the organization, ways to contact and join, helpful links, and opportunities to support its work through donations. The society also highlights issues affecting local rockhounding, including a call for public input regarding the closure of rock-collecting areas in the East Mojave.
