JAABS is the family of BBAs and/or MBAs from the Institute of Business Administration of Jahangirnagar University. With the vision of "Creating Value Through Synergy", JAABS will pursue to achieve the specific objectives laid in its constitution with a non-profit and non-political way. Aided by active participation of its members, JAABS hopes to bring a multiplier effect through networking the family and creating value in the coming days. Having graduated from the DBA, the ex-students felt the need to have an organization of their own to aid the progress of the department, maintain close fellowship among the DBA graduates, and assist the current & former students to oversee their interests. So the journey begins. In August 2002, five representatives from the first five batches of the Institute of Business Administration (former DBA), Jahangirnagar University took the initiative to communicate, organize and form an alumni body of the ex-students. Subsequently 41 graduates, from first to fifth batches with representatives from the next two batches, has given full responsibilities to the initiators to carry out specific duties up to the JAABS inauguration in a discussion meeting held in National Press Club on 15th October 2002. After that JAABS organized a daylong program at Jahangirnagar University to celebrate the 12th year of Department of Business Administration on 9th May 2003. The organizing committee held more than 40 meetings (including two discussion meetings and one re-union of 11 bathes on 9th May 2003) and collected 101 registered members. JAABS has started its formal operation through an Inauguration Ceremony held on 3rd March 2004 at Russian Cultural Centre, Dhanmondi, Dhaka.

About Jahangirnagar Alumni Association of Business Students
JAABS is a brand that represents the family of BBA and MBA graduates from the former Department of Administration (now the Institute of Business Administration), Jahangirnagar University. With the vision of Creating Value Through Synergy, JAABS aims to achieve specific objectives in a non-profit and non-political manner. The organization actively engages its members to bring a multiplier effect through networking and creating value.
JAABS was formed in August 2002, with representatives from the first five batches of the department taking the initiative to establish an alumni body. Since then, JAABS has grown, with 26 regular batches and several WMBA graduates. The organization currently has 134 life members and 96 general members.
JAABS organizes events and programs to celebrate the achievements and milestones of the Department of Business Administration and actively supports the interests of current and former students
