Jaegerschaftpoessneckev

Jägerschaft Pößneck e.V. is a nonprofit, registered hunting association serving hunters and hunting enthusiasts in the former Pößneck district of Germany’s Saale-Orla-Kreis. Founded in 1992, it is the largest of the region’s three hunting associations, with more than 380 members, over 80 hunting grounds and six wildlife management communities. The association promotes responsible, nature-conscious hunting and supports the care of wildlife, forests and local hunting traditions.

A central service is its training programme for aspiring hunters. Since 1993, the association has prepared candidates for the hunting examination, combining instruction with practical experience and guidance in the field. It reports having trained around 600 people. Members and learners can also take part in activities through its sections, which include wildlife rescue, shooting, hunting dogs and traditional practices. The association uses drone technology to help locate and protect fawns during spring mowing. Its shooting facility in Neustadt an der Orla offers rifle and shotgun disciplines, plus a working underground-dog training facility; use is available by prior arrangement.
