About Jalpesh Temple
Jalpesh Temple, also known as Jalpesh Mandir, is an ancient Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva near Mainaguri in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri district. A longstanding centre of Shaivite worship, the temple is associated with the revered Jalpesh Shiva Lingam. Its present structure reflects traditional Bengal temple architecture and has been renovated after earthquake damage. The temple draws thousands of devotees each year, particularly during Shravani Mela and on Mahashivaratri.
The Jalpesh Temple Committee provides online services to help visitors plan their darshan. Through the temple’s booking portal, devotees can select a date and time slot, pay securely, and receive an electronic ticket for entry. Online booking is mandatory for darshan services, and visitors must bring a printed copy of their ticket for verification. Jalabhishek seva slots are also highlighted during the Shravan season, especially for Mondays. Children under 10 enter free. The temple is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitors are asked to observe temple guidelines, including maintaining silence and respecting restrictions on photography and intoxicants.
