James Tomlinson Scholarship

James Tomlinson Scholarship Inc. is a scholarship foundation dedicated to helping students pursue higher education and develop their interests through educational opportunity. The organization offers awards for students attending community colleges and universities. Its 2024 scholarship award focuses on horticulture, urban gardening, and landscaping, welcoming applicants who are passionate about plants, growing food, and related fields and plan to pursue a college degree.

The foundation raises support through community fundraising, including its 2024 Pancakes 4 Purpose event, which brought together attendees, performers, sponsors, and local businesses. Donations help sustain its scholarship work, and people can contribute even if they were unable to attend the fundraiser. Beyond awards, the foundation invites people to share ideas and projects it may be able to support, such as building a garden, fundraising, or connecting people around a shared cause. It also offers an email newsletter for updates about events, awards, and other activities. Based in Lakewood, California, James Tomlinson Scholarship Inc. aims to encourage students to think independently and pursue their educational goals.
