About Hippie-Jack Stoddart
Jammin’ at Hippie Jack’s is a family-friendly Americana Roots music and arts festival based at the family farm in Crawford, Tennessee. Launched in 2007 by photographer, artist, and humanitarian John “Hippie Jack” Stoddart, the gathering celebrates roots music, storytelling, and community while supporting humanitarian outreach to underserved populations in Appalachia. The annual festival features live performances and offers flexible single-day and full-weekend tickets, along with camping packages.
Its wider music mission has included recording artists at Jack’s home and other venues, producing performances as Jammin’ at Hippie Jack’s, and sharing the music through a nationally syndicated PBS television series that ran for more than a decade. The project also grew through the nonprofit Council for Americana Roots Music, which created a platform for singer-songwriters and Americana musicians. Beyond music, the organization’s outreach has supported local families with food, clothing, firewood, school meals, children’s coats, holiday gifts, and help with other essential needs.
Jammin’ at Hippie Jack’s brings performance, cultural preservation, and practical community service together in the Upper Cumberland
