Jamtli

Jamtli is a museum and cultural destination in Östersund, Sweden, where history, art and historic environments come together. Visitors can explore three museums in one place: the regional museum, the open-air museum and Nationalmuseum Jamtli. Exhibitions trace the history of Jämtland and Härjedalen from ancient times to the present, alongside temporary displays and art, including paintings by leading Swedish artists.

The open-air museum features historic farms and settings, cultural plants and animals that visitors can see in the fields throughout the year. Jamtli also offers activities for children and families, guided tours, creative sessions, events, educational programmes and conferences. Its visitor services include Jamtli Café, serving refreshments and lunches made with organic and locally produced ingredients; Restaurant Hov, with a menu combining traditional and modern flavours; a shop featuring crafts, design, gifts and souvenirs; and a hostel set among the historic surroundings.

Jamtli also maintains collections, archives and a substantial photographic collection, and works in areas such as archaeology, cultural environments and building conservation
