Jane Wilson is a Marin County fine artist whose paintings and monotypes explore responses to the natural world and broader visual ideas. Her abstract work draws inspiration from earthly landscapes, cosmological imagery and microscopic life, sometimes incorporating realistic details or collage. Vibrant color, layered paint and varied textures create a sense of depth and complexity across her compositions. Wilson also creates representational paintings with a strong sense of realism, including intimate portrayals of flowers and other botanicals. Her Cow Series reimagines famous paintings by replacing human figures with bovines and giving them human expression.
