Janteloppet

Janteloppet is an exciting ski festival making a triumphant return to Hafjell on April 11, 2026, aiming to surpass the epic events of 2025. Founded by legendary cross-country skier Petter Northug Jr., Janteloppet emphasizes a passion for skiing while challenging conventional norms associated with the Janteloven concept, which traditionally promotes collective sameness over individual achievement. The event celebrates community and encourages participants to dream big and push their limits.

Since taking over from Redbull in 2023, Janteloppet has transformed into a global movement, blending individual achievement with collective enjoyment. The festival features a professional racing segment known as the Grand Prize, where elite athletes compete for glory and a substantial prize pool, providing a platform for emerging stars in cross-country skiing.
