Jay’s Aim is a registered UK charity working to reduce sudden cardiac death among young people in South-West England. Established in 2018, the charity was inspired by Jay, who died suddenly at 28 from an undiagnosed inherited heart condition. Its work focuses on helping communities recognise cardiac risk and respond quickly to an emergency.
Jay’s Aim offers free-to-attend training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) use. It funds public access defibrillators for locations such as sports clubs, schools and community hubs, and supports young people to attend cardiac screening, including through support for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). The charity also raises awareness of inherited heart conditions and provides information about heart health, screening, CPR and defibrillators.
To date, Jay’s Aim reports training 42,779 young people, funding 295 defibrillators and supporting 360 cardiac screening appointments. People can contribute through donations, fundraising, volunteering, corporate partnerships and the Jay’s Aim Store, whose profits support the charity’s objectives.
