About The Journal of Blacks in Higher Education
The Journal of Blacks in Higher Education (JBHE) is a brand dedicated to the conscientious investigation of the status and prospects for African Americans in higher education. Their mission is to provide racial statistics, on an institution-by-institution basis, to encourage American colleges and universities to fully integrate their campuses. JBHE aims to ensure fair treatment and unbiased practices in admissions and employment through the forces of competition, believing that academic decisions should be based on merit and qualifications rather than class stereotypes or race.
For almost a century, African Americans were excluded from most institutions of higher learning in the United States. However, JBHE highlights the progress made after World War II and the civil rights movement, when the G. I.
Bill of Rights and black protests expanded opportunities for higher education. Their focus is on addressing the historical injustices and advancing the representation and success of African Americans in higher education. Overall, The Journal of Blacks in Higher Education is a pivotal resource that provides valuable insights into the challenges, achievements, and prospects of African Americans in the realm of academia
