About Japanese Community Association of Hawaii
The Japanese Community Association of Hawaii (JCAH) is a community organization serving residents of Hawaii Island, with a focus on Japanese culture, education, and community activities. Based in Hilo, the association shares news, newsletters, event information, and photo albums through its website, and provides details about membership and its bylaws.
JCAH organizes and promotes cultural events for people of different ages, including Kodomo no Matsuri, a Children’s Day festival, and live performances by local and Japanese American artists. Its events offer opportunities for the community to gather and engage with Japanese cultural traditions and the arts. The association also supports education by offering scholarships to eligible high school seniors and post-secondary students from Hawaii Island whose interests are primarily in Japanese studies. The listed scholarship program awards two scholarships of $1,500 each.
Visitors can find event updates, ticket information, application details, and contact the association by phone or email. Through its programs and communications, JCAH connects the Hawaii Island community with cultural events and educational opportunities.
