Jeanet Marit Herbst

Jeanet Marit Herbst is an architecture color specialist who develops integrated design concepts for cultural, healthcare, and other built environments. Educated at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, she brings together architecture, interior design, art, color, nature, music, and sensory materials through her Healing Environments approach. Her work considers how spaces influence people’s perception, emotions, orientation, and wellbeing.

For museums and exhibitions, Herbst creates tailored spatial and color concepts that support artworks, strengthen visitor experiences, and help establish a distinctive identity. Her planning can account for exhibit size, color, subject, placement, lighting, and the character of the building, while integrating areas such as foyers, cafés, galleries, and quiet spaces. She also advises on environments for therapy and clinics, connecting interior design with architecture and landscape considerations, including gardens and building façades.

Her services include design consultancy, exhibition and interior concepts, and talks or presentations about Healing Environments. Across projects, she aims to create coherent, purposeful spaces in which design supports both the setting and the people who use it.
