Jeanette Karsten

Jeanette Karsten ARKDEKO AB is a Stockholm-based architecture and design practice founded around the work of architect Jeanette Karsten, SAR/MSA. Its approach brings architecture, interior and exterior design, and art together to create coherent spaces that balance simplicity with expressive detail. Karsten graduated in architecture from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 1991 and draws on broad experience, artistic influences, and careful attention to each client’s wishes.

The practice works on a range of projects, from home and holiday-house renovations to apartment-building stairwells, kitchens, halls, storage, and custom furnishings. Services include architectural planning, building-permit drawings, material and colour selection, lighting, and the design of distinctive details such as joinery and artwork. Past work includes the “Light Knots” installations created for public squares near Farsta commuter station, as well as residential renovations that respect a building’s age and character. Clients describe the collaboration as creative, attentive, and practical, highlighting thoughtful technical solutions and a strong understanding of materials.
