JeevaRaksha Trust

JeevaRaksha is a pioneering initiative launched in June 2014, designed to elevate emergency medical care in India through its Certified Skill Courses in Emergency Care and Life Support. Developed by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement, this program aims to equip healthcare providers, including doctors, nurses, and paramedics, with essential life-saving skills tailored to the Indian context. Unlike existing programs that often rely on expensive, Western-developed curricula, JeevaRaksha offers an affordable, comprehensive training focused on common emergencies such as cardiac arrest, trauma, burns, and poisoning.

This program is notable as it is the first of its kind globally to receive university-level recognition for emergency care skills. By employing an evidence-based approach, JeevaRaksha also emphasizes research and aims to extend its impact to other developing nations.
