Jennie Joseph is a British-trained midwife, health advocate, author, speaker, and educator focused on the wellbeing of women and newborn babies. Recognized as one of TIME Magazine’s Women of the Year in 2022, she is known for championing healthy pregnancies, safe deliveries, and healthier outcomes for families. Her work calls for maternal healthcare that puts women and babies first and addresses systemic barriers to care.

Jennie founded and leads Commonsense Childbirth Inc., a nonprofit organization, and created The JJ Way®, a practical approach to care for women and children. After moving to the United States in 1989, she developed an innovative maternal and child healthcare system that has improved birth outcomes for thousands of women and children. Through her website, Jennie shares information about her work, advocacy, and initiatives, and offers speaking engagements, educational courses, media resources, and a blog. Her book, Beautiful!
