Jérôme Rotard is an independent riding instructor based in Nantes, in France’s Loire-Atlantique region. He travels to clients’ locations to work with riders and their horses, making instruction available in the setting where they already live and train. Rotard is trained in equitation ethologique, an approach centered on understanding horse behavior, and in the École de Légèreté, or School of Lightness.
His work is guided by the goal of improving communication between horse and rider, with an emphasis on relaxation and on working in a way that supports the horse’s well-being. The website presents information about his background, services, rates and testimonials, and provides a contact form and direct contact details for inquiries. Rotard can be reached by email or mobile phone for people in Nantes and the surrounding Loire-Atlantique area.
His stated perspective draws on a quotation from Nuno Oliveira about becoming more generous by working with the idea that the horse should be happy
