Jersey Mencap

Jersey Mencap is a Jersey-based charity that has supported people with learning disabilities and their families across the island since 1967. Its work focuses on improving services, choice and opportunity, helping people build social connections and lead fuller, more independent lives. Guided by the values of passion, inclusion, bravery, positivity and kindness, the organisation supports more than 200 people each year and works alongside local partner charities.

Jersey Mencap runs a welcoming Social Club for members living independently, with family or supported by care organisations. Its community projects offer meaningful activities where participants can meet others, develop skills and enjoy time together in a safe environment. The charity also organises fundraising events, including the South Coast Charity Challenge and an annual charity golf day, and welcomes community-led fundraising ideas. Donations help keep the Social Club running and sustain support for people with learning disabilities throughout Jersey. Through its services, projects and events, Jersey Mencap brings people together and encourages greater choice, participation and opportunity across the island.
