Jesuits

The Society of Jesus, commonly known as the Jesuits, is a Catholic religious order with a worldwide mission rooted in the spirituality of Saint Ignatius and the Spiritual Exercises. Its work brings together prayer, discernment, education, pastoral service, and engagement with social and ecological challenges. The Society’s Universal Apostolic Preferences guide this mission: helping people find God, accompanying those who are excluded, journeying with young people, and caring for our common home.

Jesuit ministries span education and higher education, spirituality, social and ecological issues, media and communications, youth and pastoral ministry, mission, and interreligious relations. The Society also supports vocations and works with mission partners. Its website serves as an information and resource hub, sharing news from the General Curia and Father General, stories from Jesuit communities around the world, interviews, homilies, speeches, and event updates. Visitors can also explore documents, historical and spiritual resources, information about Jesuit ministries, and material on the Society’s principles and safeguarding efforts.
