About Jet
JET, originally established as the Joint Undertaking for nuclear fusion research, has played a pivotal role in advancing fusion technology for over seventeen years. Since its inception, it has been at the forefront of innovative scientific research, focusing on sustainable energy solutions through nuclear fusion. In 2000, the European Fusion Development Agreement (EFDA) assumed control of the JET machine, furthering its mission to explore fusion energy.
By 2014, the EUROfusion consortium took over operations, continuing to push the boundaries of nuclear fusion research. Although the original JET website has been superseded, the legacy of JET continues through the efforts of EUROfusion. The focus remains on collaborating with European countries to develop fusion as a viable energy source, working diligently to harness its potential for clean and sustainable power.
