JFCY, or Justice for Children and Youth, is a non-profit legal aid clinic based in Toronto. Our mission is to protect the rights of low-income children and youth who face conflicts with the legal system, education, social service, or mental health systems. We provide select legal representation, summary legal advice, and information to eligible children and youth in Toronto and its surrounding areas.

Our staff lawyers specialize in children's law and advocate for youth under 18, as well as provide legal assistance to homeless youth under 25. Alongside legal aid, we engage in community outreach and public legal education to ensure that young people, parents, professionals, and community groups have the knowledge and support they need. At JFCY, we also work towards law and policy reform, monitoring and responding to changes that affect children.

We have a wide range of publications and legal materials available for public use. Our vision is to advance and protect the legal rights and dignity of children and youth. Through our specialized legal expertise, leadership on systemic law reform, and advocacy efforts, we strive to enhance justice and promote inclusion for vulnerable children and youth.

As an organization, JFCY is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and is administered under the Canadian Foundation for Children, Youth & the Law, Inc. We are guided by a strategic plan that focuses on client-centered services, systemic law reform and advocacy, people and culture, financial health and accountability, and governance.
