J Hein Design is a custom carpentry and remodeling brand serving Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. With more than two decades of hands-on experience, the business creates residential and commercial projects tailored to each space, with careful attention to craftsmanship, materials, and practical use.

Its services include custom decks, pergolas, cabanas, gazebos, and other outdoor structures, as well as home remodeling and finished basements. J Hein Design also makes one-of-a-kind custom furniture. Projects range from outdoor dining and poolside spaces to interior improvements and additional living areas, with designs shaped around the home and the client’s goals.

The process begins with a conversation about the idea, space, and inspiration, followed by collaborative planning of details, materials, timing, and a quote. The team then builds with a focus on dependable workmanship, from the first cut through the final walkthrough. J Hein Design aims to create useful, thoughtfully crafted spaces and pieces that homeowners can enjoy for years.
