The Japanese Association of Writers for Children, commonly known as Jibunkyo, is a distinguished literary organization founded in 1946. Comprising approximately 800 members, including authors, poets, translators, and critics, Jibunkyo is dedicated to promoting and advancing children's literature. The organization actively engages in various initiatives, such as the bi-monthly publication of its magazine, "Japanese Children's Literature," and offers seminars, workshops, and creative writing courses designed for aspiring writers.

With a strong focus on enhancing the reading environment for children, Jibunkyo addresses pressing social issues related to children's rights and peace through its advocacy efforts. The association also hosts multiple awards, such as the Jibunkyo Literary Prize and the Children's Non-Fiction Award, designed to recognize exceptional literary contributions.

Members are encouraged to participate in ongoing events and can submit their works for consideration. Jibunkyo serves as a vital hub for those interested in children's literature, welcoming both established and emerging voices to join in the enriching dialogue surrounding children's stories and reading.
