About JILAEE
JILAEE is a dynamic network of world-class researchers, institutions, and social innovators dedicated to inspiring positive social change through innovative research in Latin America. Founded by John List (UChicago) and Julio Elias (UCEMA), JILAEE aims to bring field experiments and expand Chicago economics throughout the region. By leveraging insights from behavioral and experimental economics, we strive to reduce inequality and promote economic betterment in Latin America.
At JILAEE, we partner with public and private institutions to produce rigorous research. We support researchers in conducting their own field experiments, fostering innovation and collaboration. Our research covers various thematic sectors relevant to policy and capacity-building in the region, including Early-Childhood Education, Financial Sector, and Institutions & Governance.
Through these sectors, we work closely with Latin American stakeholders, designing, implementing, and evaluating programs that improve the lives of children, tackle challenges in the financial sector, and strengthen institutions and governance.
