JitsArt

JitsArt is an art gallery and studio founded in 1959 by Dutch artist Jits Bakker. A sculptor, painter, watercolorist, draftsman, glass artist, silversmith and graphic artist, Bakker worked across disciplines, creating art inspired by universal themes and timeless, recognizable forms. He worked for more than fifty years from his studio, De Kooi, in De Bilt, and his work is held in museums and private collections around the world.

Today, JitsArt continues from the historic De Kooi studio, its adjoining sculpture labyrinth and a studio in southern Spain. Since 2014, Bakker’s son Tibo van de Zand has led the organisation as owner and director, following years of collaboration with his father on projects in the Netherlands and abroad.

JitsArt offers selected works for purchase and helps visitors view its collection. Its services include artwork restoration and maintenance, authenticity and value assessments, certificates of authenticity, valuation reports, and assistance placing Bakker’s artworks in private homes and public spaces. The team can be contacted for inquiries about the collection or its services.
