JKA Cantabria

JKA Cantabria is an association dedicated to practising and preserving Shotokan Karatedō in Cantabria, Spain. Inspired by Japanese culture and the teachings of the Japan Karate Association (JKA), it follows the principles of Gichin Funakoshi and the training programme developed by Masatoshi Nakayama. The association emphasizes respect for tradition, discipline, personal growth and the martial spirit, viewing practitioners as budoka committed to carrying this heritage forward.

JKA Cantabria offers karate instruction and training, supported by instructors and activities that help members develop their practice. Its programme also includes examinations, seminars and workshops, alongside events such as arbitration sessions and social gatherings. The association shares news about its activities and opportunities to train with visiting or senior instructors, including national camps. As part of an internationally recognized organization, JKA Cantabria maintains a connection with JKA España, where its reference is Osamu Aoki Shihan, an eighth-dan instructor and pioneer of karate in Spain. Through regular practice and community events, the association brings together participants of different ages around traditional karate.
