Actual is a brand that offers a local-first app with excellent cross-device syncing capabilities. Established four years ago, Actual has built a loyal customer base and recently transitioned to an open-source platform. Despite my efforts to manage the project, my limited time and increasing responsibilities have made it challenging to maintain the level of quality and progress desired.

Therefore, I have decided to empower the community and redistribute responsibilities. By granting administrative rights and merge permissions to trusted contributors like @trevdor and @Matiss, I am fostering a collaborative environment where they can merge pull requests without my approval. Additionally, @Matiss will have npm access to the @actual-app npm user, enabling him to cut releases.

As I assume a more advisory role, I will continue to provide guidance on code-related inquiries and offer insights on pull requests. Moreover, I am redirecting focus to the open-source version of Actual, allowing the brand to evolve and adapt. This shift in strategy will also afford me the opportunity to explore new experiments and ideas without being burdened by operational tasks.

Although the closed-source service will not be immediately discontinued, I will encourage remaining subscribers to transition to the open-source alternative at their convenience. Through these changes, Actual aims to flourish and continue its commitment to providing innovative finance solutions
