The Journal of Mass Violence Research (JMVR) is an interdisciplinary, international publication dedicated to sharing rigorous, peer-reviewed research on mass violence in the United States and around the world. Its work spans fields including criminology and criminal justice, public health, sociology, and psychology, and considers topics beyond perpetration, such as victimization, social impacts, law enforcement responses, and prevention. JMVR publishes research articles and makes accepted work freely available to readers, authors, policymakers, practitioners, the media, and the public.

To make findings more accessible, the journal also encourages research summaries in formats such as videos and infographics.
