Joao Crus BJJ is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy serving Dripping Springs and Austin, Texas. Founded in 2003 by Brazilian-born instructor Joao Crus, the academy offers beginner-friendly training grounded in traditional BJJ and shaped by a teaching approach that prioritizes relational and psychological skills alongside physical technique. Its programs help students develop practical ability, body control, confidence, resilience, composure under pressure, and respect for boundaries.

Children can join Little Champions classes for ages 3–7 or Youth classes for ages 8–12; teen training is also available. Adults can explore beginner-friendly fundamentals, and a class designed for students over 60 offers a steady pace. The academy additionally provides private coaching and programs for corporate groups and teams, with an emphasis on communication, boundaries, and staying composed under pressure.

Students can train at the main academy at 120 Frog Pond Lane, Suite 200, in Dripping Springs, or at Castle Hill Fitness in Austin. Prospective students may contact Joao to discuss program fit and arrange a free studio visit or trial class.
