Joel R Washing

Joel R Washing is an Ohio sculptor whose practice centers on designing, fabricating, and welding contemporary, large-scale sculptures from steel. The material is central to his work for its strength, weight, and physical presence, as well as its capacity to feel both solid and fluid, rigid and malleable. Washing’s sculptures explore geometric forms and patterns, using linear planes and sharp angles to create clarity and order.

His work reflects an interest in geometry as a way of revealing beauty across the natural world, from Earth to the solar system and beyond. The artist’s website presents information about his practice, a portfolio of completed work, and a selection of sculptures available for purchase. It also provides his curriculum vitae.

Through its focus on contemporary welded steel sculpture, the Joel R Washing brand brings together material exploration, geometric design, and monumental form. The work offers collectors and viewers an opportunity to engage with sculptural pieces shaped by the tension between steel’s apparent solidity and its expressive, adaptable qualities
