Joensuun Kehitysvammaisten Tuki ry

Joensuu Intellectual Disability Support Association is a volunteer organization founded in 1969 to promote social equality and quality of life for people with intellectual disabilities and their families. Based in Joensuu, Finland, it advocates for their interests and works to support families in practical matters. The association collaborates with other disability organizations and belongs to the national Inclusion Finland KVTL association.

Its activities include recreational and leisure opportunities, trips, and visits to events, helping members take part in shared experiences. The association also provides expert information on a wide range of issues concerning intellectual disability, people with intellectual disabilities, and their families. It shares updates about events and relevant topics, including disability services and the EU Disability Card.

Membership is open to people with intellectual disabilities and their close relatives. Members receive a choice of the Tukiviesti magazine or the easy-to-read Leija magazine, and can access legal advice and assistance from lawyers through the national association.
