Johan Cruijff ArenA

Johan Cruijff ArenA is a multipurpose stadium in Amsterdam and an open innovation platform focused on improving people’s lives and addressing urban and societal challenges. Working with founding partners, businesses, public organizations, and other innovators, it uses its real-world setting as a “living lab” to test, develop, and scale solutions for smart stadiums and smart cities. Its work spans sustainability and renewable energy, mobility, crowd management, safety and security, sports and health, education and employment, visitor engagement, and smart buildings.

The ArenA offers advisory services and partnership opportunities for organizations seeking to collaborate on innovation. Its ecosystem connects partners and other participants to share knowledge, explore ideas, and develop practical solutions, with a focus on inclusive impact and sustainable development. The stadium’s location in Amsterdam’s South East, an active urban area, provides a setting for testing technologies and approaches in a community with large numbers of visitors. Proudly bearing the name of Dutch football legend Johan Cruijff, the ArenA also aims to create memorable experiences for guests and support innovation in sport and society.
