Valor

Valor is a San Diego-based savings service designed to help members of the military community access local discounts without having to ask or show identification. Available to active-duty personnel, reservists, National Guard members, veterans, spouses, and Gold Star families, Valor offers automatic cashback through its app. Members securely link an existing payment card once, then shop as usual at participating local businesses; eligible purchases are tracked and rewards are added to their Valor wallet.

The service features more than 300 San Diego merchants, including Better Buzz Coffee, Coronado Brewing, and ARCO, across dining, coffee, and everyday errands. Valor says it connects through Plaid with bank-level encryption, does not see users’ bank logins or sell their data, and allows cards to be unlinked at any time. The app is available through the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Valor also invites San Diego businesses to become merchants, helping local brands offer military community members an effortless way to save
