Jolien van der Geugten

W.Y.S. Onderzoek & Educatie is the research, publishing and education practice of Jolien van der Geugten, based in Amersfoort, the Netherlands. It connects scientific research with practical resources to share knowledge, amplify the experiences of vulnerable people and encourage inclusive, multiperspective conversations. Its work includes research on stalking in mental health care, the wellbeing of gifted young people, and the development of a quality-of-life questionnaire. The practice also creates educational products, including lesson materials, podcasts and historical walks, and offers Jolien’s services as a speaker and event moderator.

Its publications include children’s book Joris en de tijger, published in three languages, and the book Getekend verleden. W.Y.S. also publishes De legende van Vleermuisvechter, an Indonesian comic series exploring colonial history and perspectives that are less often represented in the Netherlands. Related resources include teaching materials, presentations and reading recommendations. Drawing on research and personal experience, including a family connection to chronic skin conditions and Indonesian heritage, W.Y.S. aims to make complex subjects accessible through books, education and public discussion.
