Joliet Franciscan Sisters is a brand rooted in the Gospel way of life. Following the example of their foundress, Mother Alfred Moes, these women religious embrace the challenge to rebuild the Church and serve those in need. With a rich history of 156 years, they continue to open themselves to the Spirit of God and dedicate themselves to various ministries.
The Joliet Franciscan Sisters are committed to caring for the Earth and all its people, recognizing that they are interconnected. They actively work towards addressing the climate crisis and transforming their own hearts and habits. Their mission is guided by the principles of Laudato Si', which include responding to the cries of the Earth and the poor, promoting ecological economics, adopting simple lifestyles, fostering ecological education and spirituality, and emphasizing community involvement.
