Jonathan F. Kugel’s Cabinet de Curiosités Contemporain is an art gallery in Brussels’ historic Sablon district. Housed in a neo-Flemish townhouse, it presents contemporary art in dialogue with antiques and historical objects, inviting visitors to explore connections across periods, materials, and artistic traditions. The gallery represents contemporary artists and organizes solo and thematic exhibitions, with a particular focus on ceramics and other practices grounded in craftsmanship, technical skill, and material experimentation.
Its program spans ceramics, painting, drawing, sculpture, design, photography, and singular objects. Works are selected for their distinctive artistic vision and ability to combine intellectual depth with emotional impact, whether through beauty, humor, strangeness, or surprise. By bringing different techniques and artistic languages together, the gallery highlights the relationship between tradition and experimentation, control and chance, and refinement and the unexpected.
Jonathan F. Kugel’s gallery also participates in art events and collaborates on exhibitions with other venues and galleries. Visitors can explore current presentations at its rue Watteeu location, Thursday through Saturday, or arrange an appointment.
