Jonnie Rowlandson

Jonathan Rowlandson Design (JRD) is a design-and-build studio creating distinctive pieces and features for interior and exterior spaces. For more than 20 years, it has worked with clients to develop innovative, contemporary solutions tailored to each project. Its approach combines metal with materials such as wood, glass and stone, drawing inspiration from clients’ ideas, nature and art.

The studio offers furniture, sculptural works and architectural features, alongside bespoke design and fabrication. Projects range from stairs, handrails, Crittall-style doors and walls to kitchen islands, bars, counters, lighting, signage, garden screens and pergolas. JRD also creates decorative and functional objects, including the Otolo furniture range, radiators, table pieces and seating.

Its work includes installations for restaurants and commercial spaces, as well as one-off commissions, such as display plinths designed for Vivienne Westwood and tables for her collection. Each project is approached individually, with services that can include initial sketches, prototypes, fabrication and installation. JRD aims to create designs that respond to their setting while bringing a fresh, distinctive character to the space.
