Josef Köberl is an ice-swimming brand offering guided courses, retreats and cold-water experiences for people who want to explore swimming in icy conditions. The program includes beginner courses in Vienna and at Grundlsee, where participants learn techniques for entering cold water safely and managing the challenge of low temperatures. A women-only session is led by Austrian champion Barbara Anderl, giving participants professional guidance in a supportive group setting.
For a longer experience, guests can join multi-day retreats at the RETTER Bio-Natur-Resort, DAS Hintersee or Hotel SeeRose. These events combine supervised ice swimming with natural surroundings, and some include access to a sauna or accommodation through the host hotel. Sessions are offered for beginners and more experienced swimmers, with instruction focused on technique and building confidence in cold water. One retreat is led by Josef Köberl, described on the site as an ice-swimming world-record holder. Across its courses and destination experiences, the brand presents ice swimming as an adventurous way to develop strength, energy and endurance under professional guidance.
