The Journal & Topics Media Group has a rich history that dates back to 1930. Originally known as the Des Plaines Journal, it was launched by Mr. Robert Fabian during the Great Depression.
In 1947, Richard and Mary Jane Wessell acquired the newspaper and have been its owners ever since. Over the years, the Journal & Topics has expanded to become a 17-newspaper operation, serving communities in and around the Chicago area, including Des Plaines, Mount Prospect, Rosemont, Niles, Elk Grove Village, Arlington Heights, and more. In addition to publishing newspapers, the Journal & Topics also offers printing services and mail processing.
