Journey with Equus

Journey With Equus is a Colorado 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and caring for horses while creating meaningful opportunities for people to grow through connection with them. Based at Raison d’Être Ranch, the organization provides sanctuary to nearly 100 equines, including horses rescued from the slaughter pipeline, seniors, and animals with injuries or needs that may prevent them from being ridden. Their safety and worth are unconditional.

Rescue is the beginning of Journey With Equus’s work. The organization offers private and group equine-partnered wellness programs for individuals, groups, and at-risk youth, including a partnership with Sandstone Care. Its Equine Gestalt coaching uses guided, experiential interactions to support awareness, emotional connection, confidence, self-discovery, and personal growth. Horses participate as partners with choice; riding and prior horse experience are not required. The coaching is non-diagnostic and does not replace mental-health or medical care.

Journey With Equus also invites the community to support its mission through volunteering, donations, fundraising events, and other giving opportunities, helping sustain the horses’ sanctuary and wellness programs.
