De Jouster Klokkenmakerij

De Jouster Klokkenmakerij is a government-recognized clockmaking workshop in Joure, the Netherlands, continuing the town’s long tradition of clockmaking. The business specializes in the care of Frisian clocks, combining traditional craftsmanship with respect for each timepiece’s original mechanism and character. Its services include restoration, repair and maintenance of antique clocks, including Frisian stoel- and staartklokken, as well as English, French and German clocks.

Work can cover the movement, case, dial and painted decoration, with much of the restoration and handwork carried out in the workshop. The company also builds new Frisian clocks and repairs mechanical watches and pocket watches, alongside battery replacement and minor maintenance. Customers can explore antique and new clocks and watches, and arrange an appointment for advice or service.

The workshop emphasizes clear, honest guidance based on a clock’s condition, the work required and the owner’s preferences, helping preserve both the timepiece and its history. New watches, including Olympic models, are also available
