About Joburg Philharmonic
The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra (JPO) is a leading philharmonic orchestra in South Africa, committed to consistently high standards in music performance. Since its formation in 2000, the JPO has been dedicated to delivering quality symphony seasons, attracting top international and local soloists and conductors. The orchestra also serves as the preferred choice for state functions in Gauteng.
With a focus on music accessibility, the JPO aims to challenge the perception of classical music as elitist and Euro-centric by incorporating South African musical genres.
