About Jesuit Refugee Service
Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is an international Catholic organization that is dedicated to accompanying, serving, and advocating on behalf of refugees and forcibly displaced persons. Their mission is to help these individuals heal, learn, and determine their own future. With programs currently operating in 59 countries, JRS provides support in conflict zones, detention centers, remote borders, and bustling cities.
They offer pastoral care, psychosocial support, and humanitarian relief in emergency situations. Additionally, JRS provides education and livelihoods programs to aid in skill development and integration into host communities. What sets JRS apart is their commitment to advocating for refugees' rights and protecting the most vulnerable among us.
Their teams are made up of people from diverse faith traditions who believe in the dignity of every person. In the USA, JRS/USA provides funding, oversight, monitoring, and evaluation for JRS projects worldwide, while also serving forcibly displaced migrants through their Migrant Accompaniment Network and Detention Chaplaincy Program. JRS/USA aims to ensure that refugees and forcibly displaced people attain protection, opportunity, and participation
