About JamilaSultanaFoundation
The Jamila Sultana Foundation (JSF), established in 2004, is dedicated to combating thalassemia in Pakistan by providing comprehensive care and support to affected individuals and their families. Located in Rawalpindi, the foundation serves over 600 patients, ensuring that quality medical services are accessible regardless of socio-economic status. JSF offers a range of services, including regular blood transfusions—averaging 25-30 daily—as well as free medications and chelation therapy to manage iron levels in patients.
In addition to direct medical services, JSF actively promotes awareness and prevention of thalassemia through educational outreach and collaboration with various stakeholders. The foundation is committed to national efforts aimed at developing a comprehensive strategy to tackle this genetic disorder. By fostering partnerships with international organizations, JSF aspires to elevate standards of treatment and care for thalassemic patients.
