Juntes Somos Más Fuertes is a collective of design for community development. They are dedicated to promoting equity and self-sufficiency through creative solutions to problems. Their vision is to create a network of resilient communities with prosperous, self-sustainable social enterprises.

Through their approach, Juntes Somos Más Fuertes empowers individuals and communities by facilitating sustainable initiatives based on real community needs. Inspired by the community capitals model of the Fundación Comunitaria de Puerto Rico, they collaborate with associated communities to design people-centric initiatives that promote and strengthen the six community capitals: physical, financial, human, social, cultural, and environmental. One of their current initiatives is in the Sector El Hoyo in Rio Chiquito, Ponce.

This small rural subsection has a long tradition of hard work ethic, community pride, and resilience. Juntes Somos Más Fuertes collaborates with the community to design sustainable initiatives such as environmentally-friendly crops, community gardens, recycling, and eco-conscious experiences. By embracing a person-centered design approach, Juntes Somos Más Fuertes believes that even seemingly intractable problems like poverty, gender equality, and access to clean water can be solved.
