Judo

Ålands Judoklubb is a judo club based at Idrottsgården on Neptunigatan in Mariehamn. Traditionally active, the club offers several training sessions each week and welcomes people of all ages and abilities. Its broad children’s and youth programme is complemented by opportunities for adults, recreational participants and those interested in competition. The club also organises training camps and provides members with opportunities to compete.

Training is organised into groups for different ages and experience levels. Kazuko introduces children aged three to five to judo alongside an adult, combining instructor-led practice with time for free play. Asobi offers basic training from age six, using exercises and games to teach foundational skills, including safe falling techniques. Mirai develops judoka who already know the basics, while Kaihatsu provides faster-paced training for those able to practise independently, with technique development, randori and physical conditioning.

Whether members want to learn, stay active or compete, the club aims to find a suitable group. It shares current updates and reminders through Facebook, and photos through Instagram.
