IN THE HEART OF JUDO is a photography and editorial blog created by Emmeric Le Person, built around the idea that judo is an art and that every photograph can tell a story. The site explores the people, places and cultures connected to judo, drawing on the author’s encounters with athletes and communities around the world. Its articles feature visual stories, personal reflections and reports from events, with subjects ranging from the Japanese judo team and international competitors to journeys in Nepal, China and Hong Kong.

The blog also highlights women in judo and shares stories connected to Afghan women, refugees and support initiatives. Visitors can browse content through sections including Visions, One Photo = One Story, Hall of Fame, Interviews, Jita Kyoei, Gallery and Haiku-do, as well as biographical and bibliographic material. English-language content is available alongside French posts.

Rather than presenting judo solely as competition, IN THE HEART OF JUDO uses photography and writing to convey its human dimension, cultural breadth and the experiences behind the sport
